Pick up from the airport. About 1 hour drive to Lhasa.
We will pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel to rest and relax. Later in the evening we have arranged welcome dinner and also short talk from the organizer about the tour and information and tips.
Sightseeing in Lhasa – Jhokhang and Sera
Morning we will visit the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism, attracts thousands and thousands of pilgrimage from all over Tibet and around the world, it was built by the great King Songten Gampo.
In the afternoon we visit one of biggest monasteries in Tibet, belongs to Gelugpa or yellow sect, Sera monastery which was built in the year of1419 by “chamchen Chojie” a disciple of Tsongkapa. They are very famous in‘Buddhism Scriptures Debating.
Sightseeing – Potala, Lukhan and Norling
In the morning we will visit Potala palace, served both as administrative centre and religious centre. in Tibet. It was built in the 7th century by Tibetan king “Songtsen Gampo” and later renovated by 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. You can explore the grandest of this myriad chapels, its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens(sputa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, Thangkas, combinations of Mandela, figures of the Buddha.
We also visit the Norbu Lingkha. On a willow-covered island in a sacred pond behind Potala Palace is a pagoda-roofed temple that was built in the eighteenth century. The chapel was reserved exclusively for the Dalai Lamas as a place of meditation and spiritual retreat, and for centuries the murals guided them in mystical contemplation. On the wall we find drawings of In the afternoon we will visit Norbu Lingkha the summer palace of Dalai Lamas. Norbu Lingka is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and was added as an extension of this Historic Ensemble in 2001. It was built by the 7th Dalai Lama and served both as administrative centre and religious centre. It is a unique representation of Tibetan palace architecture.
Drak Yerpa-Meditation and picnic
Drakyepa is located on the hill called Lhari Nyinpo, having 3920mtrs above sea level. It is founded during seventh century and place is fabulous for those having the mind of meditation. In the history of Tibet it has important position. its unique architectural style, well preserved original designed constructed before year 1500 style.
Lhasa – Tsetang- Samye
We extend to southern Tibet and appreciate the wonders fertile Yarlung valley, along the downstream of braided Brahmaputra river (Yarlung Tsangpo) meandering through dramatic sand dunes and lonely trees, in these couple of days, we will explore within the fertile Yarlung valley which gave its name to the ancient Tibetan kings dynasty as Yarlung kingdom, Tsetang is the largest town in the southern part and it is also known as cradle of the Tibetan civilization, it was the capital of Tibet prior to Lhasa and this area is replete with the most distinguished Samye monastery in its Mandala architecture, it was the very first Buddhist monastery in Tibet and spending a night near the monastery with full afternoon exploration around it. Nevertheless, we start a short hiking through the solitary caves Yubulakhang Fort and and then visit Traduk Temple on the way back to hotel. Then relax the day in Tsetang and have a hot shower in the hotel.
Samye- Gyangtse- Shigatse- Lhasa
Retrace the road back to airport and then drive continue to the west and meet southern friendship highway at the Chushul Bridge, we climb up the Gampa la(4900m) through numbers of switch-backs to Gyangtse and Shigatse in the western Tibet, from the pass you will amaze by the breathtaking view of the holy Lake Yamdrok and snow capped Mt.Nyenchen Kangsar in the background, then further following the southern friendship highway along the sprawling lake and bloomy glaciers to Gyantse, the small town of Gyantse is well known as hero’s town since from 1904, the people from the town had defeated British wars at that time, moreover, the giant Khubum stupa bounded by an adobe wall is famous for its old murals and architectural miracle. Both Gyantse and Shigatse are well known for its historical and religious value since from ancient time, more over these regions has slightly different culture and tradition than in Lhasa.
Best moments to observe and enjoy the culture with cup of tea or wondering among the local people. And also do some shopping.
After breakfast we will take you to the airport and wish you farewell!!!
